Brown & Brown is seeking an Account Manager to join our Commercial Lines team in Carmel, IN!
Job Summary:
Provide superior sales support and serve as an interface between client/employee/carrier(s) for installation of products and service related communications. Customer Service Agent (CSA) will serve by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions:
  • Serve as client day-to-day client contact for questions and issues.
  • Ensure proper handling and resolution of client issues, problems and concerns, using resources and other employees available to complete task as needed.
  • Assist in introducing, acquiring and retaining accounts.
  • Receive customer requests by telephone, email and fax, analyze requests, and provide information requested within a reasonable period of time.
  • Preserve and strengthen relationships with clients through good communication and customer service.
  • Maintain constant and open communication lines between the CSA, Administrative and all staff.
  • Timely notification to Commercial Lines Manager of any sensitive issues happening with their clients.
  • Assist with reviewing proposal materials (spreadsheet, BB Proposal, Market Comparisons and updating information, and re-marketing client when needed.
  • Precise following of I/O procedures in regard to entering and assigning and activities, following protocol in all workflows and ALWAYS using resources and staff correctly to complete the above tasks.
  • Understand and follow protocols related to your position.
  • Answer telephone calls and return all messages within 12 hours – Act as gate keeper for the Commercial Lines Manager when necessary.
  • Maintain all clients’ documents digitally, save all documents in ETFILE following proper protocols.
  • Be willing to work on and creatively be part of suggestions relating to new special projects that help our organization plan & prepare for the future.
  • Act as a mentor to those you train.
  • Customer Service Agents should serve a book of business as a standard for the Commercial Lines Department.
  • Be comfortable with all basic and intermediate functions of MS Office programs (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Look for ways to assist other members of your team.
  • Maintain proper CE requirements to keep your Indiana License in good standing.
  • Cross-sell requirements: it should be the CSA’s goal to have a minimum of 2 lines of coverage with each client. Coordination with Advisor might be needed to ensure this criteria is met.
  • Efficiently handle your assigned responsibilities and be available as a backup when people are out of the office.
  • Properly record mileage and retain receipts for expenses incurred in servicing and meeting with clients (if necessary). Expense Reports are to be filed monthly.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor.
Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Policy Declaration Page, summary plan descriptions, certification of coverage, instruction manuals, workflow reports, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Fluent ability with Word and moderate typing speed is needed.
Math Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Fluent ability with excel in both basic to moderately advanced functions of this software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
Certifications and Licenses:
Valid Property & Casualty Insurance License Required.
